Sony FE 100-400mm F/5.6-8 + 1.4x Teleconverter
The Sony FE 100-400mm f/5.6-8 OSS brings super-telephoto reach within every photographer's grasp. Weighing just 654 grams, you get an impressive telephoto range without adding serious weight to your backpack, making it ideal for wildlife, bird and travel photography.
Thanks to compatibility with the Sony 1.4x and 2x teleconverters (SEL14TC and SEL20TC), you can extend the range to 560mm or even 800mm whenever subjects seem just out of reach. The adjustable focus limiter is especially useful when shooting through a fence or other obstacle, such as at a zoo or from the stands at a sporting event: the lens no longer needs to hunt between foreground and background and keeps focusing effortlessly on your subject. Optical SteadyShot image stabilisation compensates for camera shake, so you can keep shooting sharp images handheld even at maximum telephoto range.
The lens is built to go wherever adventure takes you. A zoom lock prevents the lens from creeping during walking or travel, and the non-rotating filter thread keeps your polarising or ND filter in the same position at all times, even while focusing or zooming. The dust and moisture resistant design means changing weather conditions are no obstacle, while the nine-blade circular aperture delivers natural, smooth bokeh.
Sony E-Mount 1.4x Teleconverter
With the high-quality Sony E-Mount 1.4x teleconverter, you can extend the focal length of your lens by forty percent without any loss of image quality. Communication between the lens and the camera body, such as passing data for light metering, autofocus and optical image stabilisation, is fully supported. In addition, the Sony full-frame teleconverter with E-mount features a dust and moisture resistant construction, making it capable of handling the toughest conditions.
A teleconverter is a compact and lightweight solution for getting closer to your subject. With the Sony E-Mount 1.4x teleconverter, you can shoot with the Sony FE 70-200mm F/2.8 GM OSS lens as if it were a lens covering a range of 98-280mm. The maximum aperture is reduced by approximately one f-stop. This means that with a lens with a maximum aperture of F/2.8, you shoot at F/4.0 as the maximum aperture.
