Sony ECM-W5 Wireless Receiver
The Sony ECM-W5 Wireless Receiver is the receiver of the ECM-W5 wireless microphone system. You mount it cable-free and digitally on your camera via the Multi Interface Shoe, so the audio goes straight into your recording as 32-bit float, without any cables in between. Recording 32-bit float directly in the camera works with compatible models such as the Alpha 7 V (version 2.0 or later), the Alpha 7R VI and the FX5.
The receiver works with up to four transmitters at the same time, so you record up to four channels simultaneously for recordings with several people. The connection is built on Bluetooth LE Audio and reaches up to 500 metres with a clear line of sight. For smooth post-production, the system supports timecode so you can easily sync picture and sound, and you monitor the audio wirelessly via Bluetooth LE Audio headphones. Via the microphone input with plug-in power and locking, you can also connect a lavalier microphone.
If you buy the receiver separately, you can expand an existing ECM-W5 set or give a second camera the same wireless audio. You can also use compatible Sony headphones or earbuds as a wireless microphone, so you can record quickly without a separate transmitter. Via USB-C, you can also connect the receiver to a smartphone or PC.
