The Sony Cybershot DSC-HX400V is a high-zoom camera that offers the ease of use of a point-and-shoot, but with the design and control of a DSLR. It features a 20.4 megapixel 1/2.3" Exmor CMOS sensor and a BIONZ X image processor for outstanding low-light performance. The camera also has a 50x optical zoom Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T lens with 100x Clear Image Zoom. A 4.3 to 215mm focal length with a 35mm equivalent of 24-1200mm makes this lens remarkably well suited to both wide-angle and telephoto shooting. It also has a large aperture of f/2.8, which is especially useful in low light for bright, clear images. A larger aperture also helps create a shallow depth of field, ideal for portrait photography.
A 3 inch Xtra Fine 921k-dot tilting LCD monitor and an electronic viewfinder let you view and compose high-quality images. Shoot 1080p Full HD AVCHD video at 60p and 24p, and use the optical SteadyShot image stabilisation to compensate for camera shake and deliver sharper images. This is especially useful in low light and when using the longer focal lengths. For sports photography and action-packed continuous shooting, the HX400V is equipped with continuous shooting at 10 frames per second at the full 20.4MP resolution. This gives you a smaller chance of missing those sharp, clear shots.
To capture a wide area in a single photo, Intelligent Sweep Panorama uses motion compensation while shooting panoramas to reduce blur caused by moving subjects in the foreground. For easy uploading after a long day of shooting, the built-in Wi-Fi lets you share your photos directly with family and friends.
