Nikon NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S II

Nikon has redesigned its popular 24-70mm lens. The Nikon NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S II now features a new optical construction, faster autofocus, and an internal zoom.

The Nikon NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S II is the perfect all-round, full-frame zoom lens for both photographers and videographers. Both benefit from Nikon's new Silky Swift Voice Coil Motor. Autofocus performance is now five times faster and 50% quieter. Focus tracking during zooming is also faster — by as much as 60%. The new internal zoom is a welcome addition for photographers and videographers alike. Because the centre of gravity no longer shifts when changing the focal length, you can keep shooting handheld without adjusting your grip. When shooting video on a gimbal, for example, you no longer need to rebalance the lens every time you select a different focal length.

The optical performance of the Nikon NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S II has also been significantly improved. The lens consists of 14 elements in 10 groups, including 3 aspherical elements and 2 ED elements. A rounded aperture with 11 blades produces a beautifully circular bokeh effect. Special coatings combat ghosting and flare, so you can shoot confidently in bright light. The 24-70mm f/2.8 S II also excels at close-up work. Get closer to your subject thanks to a shorter minimum focusing distance of 24cm at 24mm and 33cm at 70mm. The lens offers a greater magnification ratio of 0.21x at 24mm, plus the advantage of a lens cylinder that doesn't extend.

The lens sits comfortably in the hand thanks to its more robust design, yet it is lighter than its predecessor. At 675 grams, the 24-70mm f/2.8 S II is the lightest lens in its class.\* You can now choose whether the control ring provides tactile feedback, or disable it for smooth, silent, stepless operation.

Whether you're shooting stills or video: this redesigned top-of-the-range lens lets you handle any situation.
