Leica 20050 M10 Monochrome
The Leica 20050 M10 Monochrome is revolutionary in digital black-and-white photography. This rangefinder camera features a black-and-white sensor of no less than 40 megapixels, giving black-and-white photography a whole new dimension. With the M10 Monochrome you capture images of unrivalled resolution down to the finest details, delivering natural sharpness in all lighting conditions. You also benefit from a huge ISO range from ISO 160 to 100,000. On top of that, you get a fine "grain" and impressive rendering of detail at every ISO value. This camera also has a B/W CMOS sensor, which provides a wide dynamic range. The sensor is tuned to Leica M lenses, so you can make the most of everything these lenses have to offer.
The technical details of the Leica M10 Monochrom are identical to those of the Leica M10-P. That means it is a stripped-back version of the Leica M camera, focusing on the most essential camera functions. This camera has, for example, a super-quiet shutter, so you can take photos without being distracted by shutter noise. This is pleasant for the people you photograph, but also comes in handy when photographing animals. The design of the camera fits this approach. The M10 Monochrome is discreet, unobtrusive and minimalist. Its looks also match the black-and-white character of the photos you can take with it. Only the Leica logo is in color, while the rest of the camera is finished in black and grey tones.
Because the sensor of the Leica M10 Monochrom only sees in black and white, it delivers more sharpness and brilliance than a regular color sensor. The sensor has no color filters for the pixels, which makes color interpolation unnecessary. As a result, details can be reproduced with the highest sharpness and high contrast. Color filters in a normal sensor also absorb more light. A monochrome sensor doesn't have this drawback, so more light reaches your sensor. This results in less noise and extremely sharp, high-contrast photos in all lighting conditions.
The Leica M10 Monochrome keeps up with the times and therefore comes with a Touch LCD screen. Thanks to this screen, you can focus on your subject with a single tap of your finger, both in Live View mode and in playback mode. You can also easily change settings with this screen. In addition, you can use the Leica FOTOS app with this camera, which lets you control the camera remotely and quickly view your photos.
