The Hoya 72mm R72 infrared filter blocks all visible light, so you can shoot pure infrared light (above 720nm).

Hoya 72mm R72 infrared in SQ case

The Hoya 72mm R72 infrared filter is a specialized filter used for infrared photography with digital cameras and special infrared film. This nearly opaque filter blocks all visible light up to 720nm, making it possible to capture subjects and scenes that are not visible under normal conditions. Due to the nature of infrared photography, the filter factor of this filter is highly variable and largely depends on the ISO sensitivity used and the lighting conditions. This filter is made of high-quality optical glass with an aluminum ring for extra protection of the glass.
