The EF-S 15-85mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM is equipped with Canon's 4-stop Image Stabilizer (IS). The IS is ideal for shooting without a tripod and allows shutter speeds up to 4 stops slower without blurry photos. The Image Stabilizer comes in handy when shooting in low light or from a moving vehicle.

The lens elements feature Canon's Super Spectra lens coating. It suppresses reflections and prevents flare, which occurs more often on digital cameras because of reflections from the image sensor.
